Trinity Sin releases new single ‘R3D’

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

The solo musician from New York known as Trinity Sin has released his latest single, titled, “R3D.” The track is the most significant official Trinity Sin offering since his April 2013 EP release, “Promise.” A deeply personal and soul-baring track that carries on the Trinity Sin tradition while continuing to develop his unmistakable style, “R3D” is a moving and worthy addition to Trinity’s growing musical catalog.

Trinity Sin cites as main artistic influences such legendary music acts as Evanescence, Cyndi Lauper, Lady Gaga, and Coheed and Cambria. His own style on “R3D” being far removed from these notable inspirations, Trinity Sin has been moving away from less-challenging pop and EDM motifs in favor of newer, more complex and arguably more matured overtones. In the case of his new “R3D” single, as well as other, more-recent Trinity Sin songs, the upbeat nightclub nature of his former sound would not be appropriate for themes of such emotional weight and intensity.

Speaking of the meaning with which he infused “R3D,” Trinity Sin writes, “It’s a song about letting go, not relationship-wise, but life-wise. I wrote most of it on the ride back from seeing my sister who recently moved away. The song is incredibly selfish. I hated that my sister was moving further away from the family than I had thought, and I didn’t know how often I would be able to see her.”

As heart-rending as this is, “R3D” isn’t all lamentation. The artist himself says that it has brought him much joy in having brought it to the public ear.

“It has a strengthening message behind it,” writes Trinity Sin. “’Just because it’s gone, doesn’t mean it’s lost.’”

“R3D” is also important for the same reasons Trinity Sin’s “Promise” album turned so many heads when it appeared on digital shelves last year: it is audio autobiography – unabashed and unadulterated sonic honesty, written and performed by one of music’s most intrepid independent players.

“This is probably one of the most personal songs I’ve ever made,” writes Trinity Sin, “and I’m so proud to be able to share another part of myself with whoever listens to it.”

“R3D” is available online worldwide.

Trinity Sin releases new EP album ‘Promise’

Trinity Sin, the renowned artist of digital dance music from New York City, has released his long-awaited EP album, “Promise.” The EP is the first official release from Trinity Sin since his 2012 single, “Over It,” which cemented his name in the East Coast underground dance culture. By far, “Promise” is the most ambitious, powerful, and evocative project from Trinity to date. Largely a change from his familiar dance club material, it contains six original tracks for a total of twenty minutes’ listening time, but it is mostly comprised of the naked heart and soul of Trinity Sin, himself.

At the thrumming, vibrant core of the “Promise” EP is an electrifying experimental album from one of the scene’s most passionate composers. However, Trinity Sin’s record is much more than mere music. It is total and unabashed honesty transfigured into art — art’s finest form. “Promise” isn’t just brutally honest, either; it’s honest to the bone. For fans of Trinity Sin, it is the living marrow.

The album’s most intense and explicit track, “Wasted Time,” contains most, but not all, of the album’s venom. “F*** the way you kiss. F*** the memories you left me with…I hope you hate yourself,” runs a particularly stabbing lyric. Beneath these hard emotions runs a fabric of continuous hope and optimism, however, and a great deal of goodness and decency. Like Trinity Sin’s name, “Promise” is part warm, pure light, part deep and painful shadow.

Trinity’s sound on “Promise” is keyboard and vocals based, with digital back beats and professionally engineered effects and production on top. His voice is natural and unpretentious, crooning out his palpably earnest writing in tones that communicate as much feeling as his lyrics do, if not more. As usual, most listeners will feel he is at his best on “Promise” when the music is thumping and driving, but there’s much more than just his usual exceptional beats in this latest work from Trinity Sin. Fans who stick strictly to the grooves will be pitifully missing out on some truly gorgeous humanity.

The EP “Promise” by Trinity Sin is available online worldwide beginning April 10, 2013.

Note also that licensed Trinity Sin “Promise” merchandise is available at the official TS website.

New York Electronica Artist Trinity Sin Releases New Single, “Over It”

Trinity Sin has released his first new single since 2010, the electronica dance track, “Over It”

Trinity Sin

New York’s up-and-coming dance/electronica artist, Trinity Sin, has released “Over It,” his first major public release since 2010’s “Lollipop Eyedrops 2.0.” The song is upbeat with smooth, crystalline melodies and quick, although unhurried, electronic percussion. It showcases the modern harmonic use of autotuned vocal tones in the style popularized by artists such as Lady Gaga and Cher, and solidifies Trinity Sin’s claim to the New York underground dance subculture.

Trinity Sin is the first professional music project by New York native Ray Decker, who grew up in the small town of Wellsburg as the youngest of three siblings. His lyrical style was honed through the writing of poetry, but he soon turned to penning songs, which he did not begin to sing until much later. In the earliest stages of his artistic development, Decker did not take his budding craft seriously, but after completing several whole songs decided it was time to sing them, which MySpace-borne performances became the basis of Trinity Sin.

His first track, “Lollipop Eyedrops,” was released on iTunes in 2009, but Decker says this release fell short of his expectations: “[I] was not proud of the song itself,” he says. Still, it was his first song released on iTunes, so he revisited it in 2010, re-mixed and re-mastered the score, and added a new, more-polished vocal track to it before releasing it again as version 2.0, “Simply because [I] wanted to make it better,” he says. “I succeeded.”

Of songwriting Trinity says, “The point of my music isn’t about the money I can, can’t, or won’t make. It’s about the connection I can have with people, and I would rather that than any amount of fame or money.” Still, money is as much an obstacle for Decker as it is for any new artist. “I would do music for the rest of my life if the equipment was cheaper,” he says.
