Hip hop artist Yayo releases new single ‘Live It Up’

The hip-hop artist from Houston, TX known internationally as Yayo has released his latest single, “Live It Up.” Like the rest of his repertoire, the single has been proudly published as an independent release on the MadMan Entertainment, LLC record label without the direction of the corporate music industry. Upbeat, brightly toned, and full of rhythm and groove, “Live It Up” is the latest evidence that Yayo is a name to watch for music fans and DJs alike in 2017 and beyond.

Yayo sites as main artistic influences Kanye West, Jay Z, Rihanna, and Young Jeezy. These tastes appear in his own music several ways, including his penchant for writing infectious hooks, the use of analog and digital instrumentation, and writing lines and rhymes that are as fun as they are easy to sing along with.

Asked to talk about the themes of his new single, Yayo writes, “My single is about enjoying life. Live It Up means being grateful everyday for the time we get to spend with our family and friends. Live it up! You could die any minute. Everyday you gonna see me living to the fullest.”

Yayo attended Curtis High school in Staten Island, NY and graduated from Kashmere High School in Houston, TX. He played basketball at the University of New Orleans, and a year later, transferred to Yuba College in Yuba City, CA, where he continued his passion and love for basketball. While attending Yuba he suffered a knee injury, and his search for self-expression led him down a new path: music.

After leaving Yuba college, Yayo enrolled at San Jose City College to finish up school, but soon made a life-changing decision to pursue his passion for music. Yayo made a personal commitment to remain in San Jose and enjoy the California lifestyle of beaches and mountains – his source of inspiration and motivation to complete his debut mixtape: “No Sleep + Hustle.”

South Maine releases new single ‘Salute’

The rapper and songwriter known as South Maine has released his latest single, “Salute.” The track has been published on the Indie Music Factory independent record label, under which umbrella such acts as Sina, Cell Spitfire, Treasured Peace and others have gained widespread popularity. A pounding urban anthem with a booming back beat, galvanized by electrifying lines and rhymes, “Salute” is the latest sign that rapper South Maine and the Indie Music Factory label are names to watch in the 21st century.

South Maine cites as main artistic influences T.I., Ludacris, Jay-Z, Nas, Tupac Shakur, the Notorious B.I.G., and Andre 3000 (formerly of OutKast). His signature, in-your-face delivery is directly in the spotlight on “Salute,” each chorus bringing the rap fan to the foot of the stage with South Maine as if he were performing live in the listener’s room. This explosive, powerful, sonic undertow is a palpable quality of South Maine’s, and one which fans of the genuine urban-American sound are sure to feel as soon as the track begins.

Speaking of the lyrical content of his new single, South Maine writes, “It doesn’t matter where you come from. If it’s something you want to do in life, go after it. Prime example, I’m from Arkansas and people tell me everyday nothing will ever happen for me.”

Proving these naysayers wrong is a daily event for South Maine, whose “Salute” has been climbing online charts since its appearance on October 8th.

“South Maine is a rare talent and we are excited about introducing that rare talent to the world,” Indie Music Factory’s business-affairs manager, Knowledge Stevens, told GTN News in Gainesville, FL.

Having been performing rap music since the young age of 12, South Maine is both a born natural and a practiced veteran of the sound.

“Music is my life so I’m-a live it,” he told GTN News. “This journey began with being able to write in ways that catch the ear. Seeing the power of word play, I began to structure poems and love letters into what I then-thought was real music.”

Fans of South Maine and of rap in general can look forward to a healthy dose of honesty from the up-and-coming artist.

“My inspiration comes from truth and life experiences,” he said, “so I vow to forever give you me.”

“Salute” by South Maine is available online worldwide.

JLoyal releases new EP ‘Trappin’ in My Didas’

The songwriter, music producer and performer of hip hop known as JLoyal has released his latest EP record, “Trappin’ in My Didas.” The EP is composed of three original tracks and a second mix of the album’s title track, “Trappin’ in My Didas,” edited specifically for play on public radio stations around the world. It has an approximate total listening time of 15 minutes, and has been proudly published on the RoadRunnaRecords independent music label entirely without support from the corporate music industry. Raw, rough, and packed with the legitimate, unmistakable style of rap and hip hop from the American south, “Trappin’ in My Didas” by JLoyal is a surprise powerhouse coming late in the summer of 2014.

The various tracks included on JLoyal’s new EP, “Trappin’ in My Didas,” “Gas,” and “Wake Up,” show different facets of the artist’s creativity and vocal delivery, as well as showcasing a range of talents on the studio production side of RoadRunnaRecords. The wide spread of skills offered in this single EP record hint that much more material from RRR is forthcoming. The label, which was founded 1 March 2014, speaks in few words on its official Soundcloud and Facebook pages.

“RoadRunnaRecords is an independent music label in Augusta, GA,” they write. “We take pride in our craft and only put out professional quality music.”

Their first artist and writer/performer of “Trappin’ in My Didas,” JLoyal, began in music at 14 inside the closet of an apartment. He writes that his main artistic influences are “Wit, pure dedication, drive, hunger, humility, and a love for music and success… I kept at it, improving my craft.”

His journey as a musician hasn’t been easy, but it seems the artist and the label have finally arrived.

“Trappin’ in My Didas” by JLoyal is available online worldwide beginning 29 August 2014.

Street Addiction Muzik Group releases new LP ‘U.S.A. (Undeniable Street Addiction)’

The performers of hip hop known as the Street Addiction Muzik Group have released their latest LP record, “U.S.A.,” which acronym stands for “Undeniable Street Addiction.” The long-playing album comprises 18 original tracks for an approximate total listening time of an hour and 15 minutes. This superlative length brings Street Addiction’s new record closer to the average length of a double LP than to that of a typical long-playing album, which usually clocks in at 40-42 minutes. As might be inferred by the name of the artist, “U.S.A.” has been published on the Street Addiction Muzik Group independent record label. Aggressive, straight-up, and directly from the urban poets of America’s inner cities, “U.S.A.” is a milestone of hip-hop music for the new millennium.

Street Addiction Muzik Group’s “U.S.A.” record is a particularly momentous achievement for the rising rap label, which opened its doors in 2013 with such immediate successes as “REM” by the Young Moors, “Party x Bull—t” by Yum Pow, and “No Cut: the Red and Blue Tapes” by Hye Def. As a new show of cultural force, however, their new “U.S.A.” album features no fewer – and in fact more than – 15 individual hip-hop groups publishing music on the Street Addiction name.

SAMG writes of this: “’U.S.A.’ is a music compilation featuring many artists under the S.A. Muzik Group umbrella. Each artist has their own message. Each artist has their own style and content. This is what makes the project unique. The bar of quality and lyricism has been set. Each artist has set out to raise the bar. Each song will give you a different feel. This album is like a movie. It will play to your every emotion.”

Speaking of how the label came to be and what brought its various artists to music in general, they write: “We come from different backgrounds, but music is our savior. Growing up, music was the light that guided us through the darkness. It kept us level when things appeared shaky. This is true to this day. We’ve come together through a common love and passion for the hip-hop culture. Our goal is to preserve the music while contributing to and advancing it.”

The idea that the hip hop genre is sorely in need of help is not unique to Street Addiction, but the label’s genuine concern and determination to uphold and elevate the American-founded, urban music style is clear – and they have a plan of action.

“We’re from an era when songs weren’t written for radio,” they explain. “Songs were written from the soul. Today, everything on the radio sounds the same. There’s no variety. This compilation is anti-radio. It exhibits an array of styles. It’s from the heart. This is real hip-hop.”

Rapper WalKat releases eight singles on Think Tank Ent. LLC

The vocalist and songwriter of hip hop known as WalKat (often stylized WALKAT) has released eight single tracks on the Think Tank Entertainment LLC music label. The tracks, “Can’t Cope,” “Boomboombap,” “Swaggup,” “Murdaman,” “Chinese Store,” “Cold Street Speech,” “Jason Mask,” and “Jewelry Game” have been published in the period spanning late 2013 to early summer 2014. This octet of singles represents the largest body of material to be officially released by WalKat since his most recent duo of LP albums.

These full-length records, “Da Now” and “Now On,” appeared on digital music shelves around the world in December of 2013, featuring a combined approximate listening time of over two hours across 36 original tracks. Both LPs were published on the Think Tank Ent. music label, formed in 1997. Being both part of the cutting edge and part of the old school, WalKat has returned with more of his distinctive, heavy-hitting hip-hop style and masterful urban poetry.

WalKat hails from north Philadelphia. His official MTV artist profile states that he began rapping in 1988. He cut his hip-hop teeth by freestyling verses to beats from Lady B on Philadelphia’s W.H.A.T. AM radio (currently at 100.3 FM) which he recorded on cassette tapes at the age of 13. Since that time, WalKat has been an avid connoisseur of hip-hop music and an important personage of the urban underground, performing live onstage for over fifteen years. He has been known for loudly voicing his contempt for “the current state of hip hop,” and founded Think Tank Ent. in part to help raise the quality of rap and urban music everywhere. His songs have been labeled “new-school classics” by fans on the East Coast and West Coast of America alike.

WalKat has cited as main artistic influences such legendary performers as Public Enemy, Rakim, KRS-One, Gang Starr, Geto Boyz, Scarface, Compton’s Most Wanted, Wu-Tang Clan, and the Juice Crew. His music is available in over 750 online music outlets worldwide, including iTunes, Amazon and more. His singles and albums can be found on Pandora, the Music Genome Project.

Rapper Klutch releases new single ‘That’s Klutch’

The rapper, songwriter, and performer of hip-hop music known as Klutch has released his latest single, “That’s Klutch.” The single has been produced by Hollywood Legend and published on the Halo Nation LLC music label. “That’s Klutch” is the first official release from the hip-hop artist which will be promoted over public radio, and has been edited for radio play. Rhythmic, bassy, and packed with lyrical flips and turns to entertain listeners with ears for urban poetry, “That’s Klutch” is the most recent reason why fans of rap and hip hop have been paying so much attention to this rapidly climbing star of the street.

Klutch cites as main artistic influences such musicians as Eminem, Tupac Shakur, Dr. Dre, Jay Z, Drake, Lupe Fiasco, Metallica, Guns ‘n’ Roses, and Michael Jackson. As this widely varied grab bag of monumental talents may imply, “That’s Klutch” showcases Klutch’s sound and style to be an eclectic mix of tones from the old school and the new, with polished horn samples and catchy piano melodies, sonic elements in both the high and low frequencies. The back beat leaves plenty of space for groove while remaining one of the song’s best attributes. The beats don’t try to be the main attraction, however, which spotlight is appropriately taken up by Klutch, himself.

Asked to comment on the direction he and Hollywood Legend took with his new single, Klutch writes, “[I think] the song shows my lyrical ability flowing smoothly on a non-traditional hip-hop beat, showing my diversity of skills.”

Hailing originally from the Philippines, Klutch was born in 1987 and raised in Abqaiq, Saudi Arabia. He moved to America for schooling without his family when he was 15 years old, and is now based in Milwaukee, WI. Klutch had learned to play guitar by the age of 12. Talent shows and other public venues gave him all the room he needed to develop his stage presence and delivery, and by the time he had reached his junior year of college, the public started to take notice.

“In 2010,” writes Klutch, “my junior year in college, it transitioned from a hobby to a career. The rest is history.”

Klutch is expected by many audiophiles to be the first Filipino/Asian hip-hop artist to break out of the underground scene.

“That’s Klutch” by Klutch, produced by Hollywood Legend, is available online worldwide. Get in early.

North London Rap Artist Bluehomie Releases New LP, “Dreamare”

Up-and-coming rapper Bluehomie has released his second full-length album, “Dreamare,” to resounding critical acclaim

Image

United Kingdom rap artist Bluehomie has returned with “Dreamare,” his first full-length release since 2010’s “Under the Knife” LP. The record is an earnest return to the lyrical styles of classic ’80s rappers, who in those pre- parental advisory days could manage to write an entire album without relying on the boring sucker punches of repetitive profanity. Bluehomie’s beats and melodies are straightforward and infectious in the tradition of his early hip-hop predecessors, with enough space in the music to keep his rhymes at the forefront where they belong, rather than buried in a morass of autotuned synth choruses and twitchy, hyperactive cyberdrums. These qualities, however, do not belie a vintage sound overall.

Bluehomie’s loops have more in common with the underground beat junkies of the new millennium than the dated whistles and scratches of yesteryear, his lyrical syncopation more reminiscent of Eminem than of the Beastie Boys. His lyrical content is more sophisticated, also, without ever seeming pretentious. Bluehomie’s “Dreamare” is a record about perseverance, romance, and his love/hate relationship with the music industry, an ever-more-common theme among modern songwriters. Of his lyrics, Bluehomie only says, “I set out to write meaningful, intelligent and satirical material.” Though his focus is obviously on high-octane wordplay, the generous album (comprised of fully 17 tracks!) is not entirely rap and features ballads and dance-club compositions, which unlikely amalgam provides just as seamless a listen from one track to the next as a Beethoven symphony.

Bluehomie got his start in hip-hop during his schooldays in North London, but did not emerge professionally until his third year of Mechanical Engineering at King’s College London. His first release was the obligatory introductory EP, which he called “Mature,” released in 2009. This was followed by a full-length record in 2010 entitled “Under the Knife,” which also showcased his versatility by including rap and dance tracks as well as ballads, and even a Greek Hip-Hop number, just, as Bluehomie says, “for good measure.”

The LP “Dreamare” is distributed globally by MondoTunes (www.MondoTunes.com) and is available at iTunes for convenient purchase and download

MondoTunes (www.mondotunes.com) supplies the largest music distribution in the world and provides upstream services for many major labels in search of breakout artists.
