Kontradikshn releases new EP ‘Anatomy’

The eclectic hard rock crew known as Kontradikshn has released their debut EP record, “Anatomy.” The album is comprised of six original tracks for an approximate total listening time of half an hour, making for a comprehensive introduction to this heavy-hitting group from Slovenia. The album has been released on the Implicit Division Production music label. A striking, aggressive record with elements of electronica, drum ‘n’ bass and industrial music, “Anatomy” is sure to prove that Kontradikshn isn’t your kid brother’s EDM band – they’re here to bring sonic violence and a healthy dose of philosophy.

Kontradikshn cite as main artistic influences such artists as Laibach, the Prodigy, Borghesia, Demolition Group, and the Units. Their unique sound is in some ways most comparable to the Prodigy, though their tones are decidedly more contemporary, their digital music component much more drum ‘n’ bass than Prodigy’s 1990’s techno-style underpinnings. Kontradikshn are more than just the power of their sound, however. Kontradikshn’s lyrics form one of their most impressive characteristics.

Upon being asked, “How did you start getting involved in music?” Kontradikshn reply directly, “We felt an urge to express ourselves and to save the world from apocalypse.”

Speaking of the theme of “Anatomy,” Kontradikshn write:

“The world is just the anatomy. On Anatomy EP, rushing synths collide in an apocalyptic guitar wall, and in the resulting emptiness, the cognition of absurd man’s struggle with his animal mind becomes a reality.”

Kontradikshn were awarded second place at the popular Bosnian music festival, Jelen Demofest, held annually in Banja Luka. They also notably appeared at Festival Lent in Maribor, Slovenia, and have been touring the nations of former Yugoslavia since March of this year. Their breakout EP record, “Anatomy” herald’s the coming of their debut full-length release, due in the fourth quarter of 2014.

“Anatomy” by Kontradikshn is available online worldwide. Get in early – very early.
