With an emphasis on back beats, melody lines and vocal harmonies, “Don’t Stop the Beat” by El-Jay has a little something for every avid pop listener.
Commenting on the overall meaning of “Don’t Stop the Beat,” El-Jay says, “The messages in my songs are all about having fun, dancing, and allowing the music to take control. The songs on my EP will all be club bangers that will have the listeners wanting to dance. This particular single reminds the listeners to just dance and don’t stop the beat, whether the song is referring to the dance floor or making a correlation between dance and sex. It all boils down to feeling the beat in your body and allowing the beat to take control.”
Asked to describe his start in music, El-Jay writes, “I’ve always had an ear for music. My father was into music and I guess it was just passed down to me through genetics. I started writing at a young age my own songs to artists’ instrumentals on cassette tapes.”
“Music is my foundation and it’s in my heart,” he says. “No matter where I go, I will always return to my roots.”
