Pop singer Geron releases new single ‘That’s Me’

The singer and performer of pop and hip hop known as Geron has released her latest official single, “That’s Me.” The track has been proudly published on the Bergeron Musique independent record label without the involvement of the corporate music industry. Impeccably performed, precisely produced, and intuitively written, “That’s Me” is a single to put Geron on the map across several music categories.

Geron cites as main musical influences Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Christina Aguilera. As such, her own style often moves between the pop and hip hop genres. Geron’s vocal tones have been described as “unique, with a serious, soulful, and mysterious quality that lends itself to alternative R&B.” Her current release of the “That’s Me” single is the public’s first glimpse into a debut EP album which she has hinted will drop in Q4 of 2018.

By Kindergarten, Geron was already playing piano. Her first performance in a recital came just two years later. She performed as a soloist in her church choir by nine years old. She is classically trained as a vocalist.

Geron’s musical beginnings stay alive on her parents’ VHS tapes. Since a toddler, she’s been singing and dancing. By Kindergarten, she was playing piano and her first recital followed a couple years later. At age nine, she became a soloist in the church choir, and eventually took vocal lessons. When the lessons ended, she continued playing and singing. Then in high school, she told her mom she wanted to pursue a career in music.

An avid songwriter, Geron enjoys speaking openly about her personal life in her music. Songs by Geron tend toward the introspective, the genuine, and the autobiographical. She has gone on record to state that the three-decade-strong marriage of her parents “has influenced [her] greatly.”

Some of her songs weave a tale about the dark side of relationships, too, though,” says Bergeron Musique, “and her lyrics often have complex or dual meanings.”

Geron has attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and has started a career in TV and film, but also looks forward to working in the theatre, which combines her love of acting and singing. Her current official bio notes that, “In every role, Geron wants to be a role model and a testament of all that’s possible when you keep your eye on the prize.” It concludes by saying, “Geron is excited about releasing ‘That’s Me’ as it marks the revamping of her sound and the hard-launch of her brand.”

Singer Zami releases debut single ‘Limit’

The rapper and songwriter from Orange County, Calif. known as Zami has released his official debut single, “Limit.” An official music video has also been made available. Both have been proudly published on the Good Guy Music independent record label without the involvement of the corporate music industry. Popping, jumping, and accessible to a broad variety of music fans, “Limit” showcases Zami as a fun, vibrant and compassionate voice for the 21th century.

10% of all streaming profits from “Limit” by Zami will be donated to the Maerim Elephant Sanctuary in Thailand where a portion of the official music video was shot.

Also in Zami’s corner are the Karma Clutch Foundation, and CryptoCurrency and Music, who helped fund this release.

Zami (born Zameer Kurji) cites as main artistic influences Jay-Z, Big Sean, Drake, J. Cole, Chance the Rapper, Logic, Kendrick Lamar, 6lack, Rick Ross, and Travis Scott. His own sound takes elements of each of these for a resulting panache that is all his own. Originally a live DJ at the age of 15, Zami’s music builds on strong beats, catchy melody lines and lyrics which promote social awareness.

Asked to comment on the themes of “Limit,” Zami writes that “The message of this ‘Limit’ is to constantly push yourself further than you’ve been. Committing to goals in your life requires sacrifices and goal setting.”

But the single isn’t just about accomplishments. It’s also about personal courage.

“Another aspect of the meaning is to constantly push yourself out of your comfort zone to establish long-term comfort,” says Zami. “I speak about what getting uncomfortable can result in … anxiety and depression, specifically. While these two mental health issues are at an all-time high in our society, I explain how I overcame my own cases of anxiety and depression through learning to live in the present. There’s a line about meditation in there that alludes to the ‘living in the present’ aspect of things.”

Zami has opened and/or shared stages such popular artists as Kid Ink, Big Boi (Outkast) Wiz Khalifa, KRS-One, Ki Ink and Big Sean. He is the brand ambassador for the Creations for a Cause, which organization he supports by helping to secure their funding.

Rock singer-songwriter Paula Punch releases debut LP ‘Don’t Look Down’

The singer-songwriter of rock and adult contemporary music known as Paula Punch has released her debut LP album, “Don’t Look Down.” The record contains eight original Punch tracks for an approximate total listening time of 30 minutes. Like the rest of Paula Punch’s repertoire, “Don’t Look Down” has been proudly published on the Punch Park independent record label without the direction of the corporate music industry. Driving, grooving, powerful and uplifting, “Don’t Look Down” proves Paula Punch one of the most intriguing rock voices of 2018.

Sydney, Australia’s Paula Punch cites as main artistic influences Ed Kuepper, Joni Mitchell, Eurythmics, Ron Sexsmith, Shawn Colvin, Bob Dylan, and Neil Young.

Recently, I love Sigrid, First Aid Kit and LP,” she notes.

Her own style shares the same passionate, independent spirit which gave rise to names like Tori Amos, Sheryl Crow and Sarah McLachlan, and ultimately, to the now-legendary Lilith Fair of the 1990s. Fans of any of the above will find much to appreciate in “Don’t Look Down.”

Paula Punch’s debut LP showcases her as a varied songwriter, also. Songs on the record range from slow-burners like “Take Me Back” to pop cruisers like “Lucky Girl,” and from rock waltzes like “Watch Over Me” to the finger-snapping title track, “Don’t Look Down,” a radio-ready single which works to exemplify Punch’s album in theme as well as tone.

Paula’s music is personal,” says the Punch Park label of its namesake artist, “yet it talks to women about living a modern life in an urban environment with all the joys and struggles that emanate from the constant juggle.”

Paula Punch, herself, says, “The music has changed my world. I feel like a teenager again – inspired, energized and excited to tell more stories through my songs.”

Paula Punch began her music career in earnest in 2017 and wasted no time in achieving Fifth Place in the ASA Songwriting Competition for her single, “Take Me Back.” Her music is studio produced by Rob Gist (guitarist, Girl Overboard). Her musical creativity spun from her creation of Punch Park, which has been described as “a website dedicated to expressing her creativity through fashion, music and art, and sharing her stories by recording and performing her own songs.”

Don’t Look Down” by Paula Punch is available from over 600 quality digital music stores online worldwide now. Get in early, singer-songwriter fans.

The Voice singer Gedina releases debut album ‘Tell ‘Em’

The singer and songwriter known as Gedina has released her debut album, “Tell ‘Em.” The record contains 12 original Gedina tracks for an approximate total listening time of 40 minutes. It has been proudly published as an independent release without the involvement of the corporate music industry. A seamless blend of pop, blues, R&B and soul music, “Tell ‘Em” stands as evidence that Gedina has plenty in store for music fans in 2018 and beyond.

Gedina is perhaps most famous for her appearance on the popular television program, “The Voice,” in which she competed against other singers as a vocalist, but her debut LP record, “Tell ‘Em,” proves she doesn’t need game show exposure to make waves as a musician.

“I haven’t been able to put ‘Tell ‘Em’ into words,” she writes of her new record. “Ironic, I know. Even my bio feels a bit forced on the subject, but when I sat down just now, the connection from my heart to my head to my hands was flawless, and I knew exactly what to write. Thank God!”

Gedina has described her debut LP as having been written by “the 5-year-old kindergartener, 15-year-old diva, and the 25-year-old woman curious about how to find calm after many storms that exist within me.”

An extremely deliberate record in terms of songwriting, Gedina hasn’t mucked about with her lyrics, melodies or harmonies.

“Every song has an intention,” she writes, “a principle motivating its purpose for coming to fruition. I think people will draw their own conclusions or connection when listening but every note, every word, every musical choice is specific and necessary.”

Asked to describe her creative process, Gedina takes herself out of the equation.

“I just had to get my ego outta the way … This ultimately led me to a place of real power – not all-consuming, omnipotent power, but tapped in, turned on and creating from my highest self.”

Nevertheless, “Tell ‘Em” remains a very personal record.

“I’ve definitely written my fair share of angry, bitter, revenge songs because of the burden of trauma, fear of rejection or abandonment,” Gedina says. “’Tell ‘Em’ is my first response to those songs with pure accountability. It’s not a wagging of a finger with a hand on a hip anthem of look what you did to me, but rather here is my story, my part, my truth.”

She’s also quick to note that, “It’s just chapter one.”

“Tell ‘Em” by Gedina is available from over 600 quality digital music stores online worldwide now. Get in early, pop fans.

Ryan Maynard releases debut album ‘Welcome to Utopia’

The singer and songwriter of pop music known as Ryan Maynard has released his debut LP album, “Welcome to Utopia.” The record contains 12 original Maynard tracks for an approximate total listening time of 45 minutes. It has been proudly published on the Ryan Maynard Music independent record label without the direction of the corporate music industry. Grooving, uplifting, and suitable for earphones, nightclubs and commutes alike, “Welcome to Utopia” announces that Ryan Maynard has arrived.

New Brunswick, Canada’s Ryan Maynard is a pop fan through and through.

“I grew up loving Britney Spears like every other kid my age at the time,” he writes, “but I’ve always been influenced by artists that can utilize their voice in that mesmerizing way like Ellie Goulding, Troye Sivan, even Justin Bieber.”

It may come as no surprise, therefore, that Maynard’s “Welcome to Utopia” is a pared-down, no-frills collection of danceable songwriting with an emphasis on crystal-clean vocal performances and dreamy, slice-of-life lyric themes. To hear his fans tell it, though, “Welcome to Utopia” is only a complete experience when a Ryan Maynard live show caps it off.

“I started my career hosting singing competitions on Canada’s east coast,” says Maynard. “We gave away a trip anywhere in North America, thousands of dollars, and I would perform each week and eventually became known for my stage presence and unpredictable shows.”

Also a large part of Ryan Maynard’s album is the genuine, heartfelt narrative it tells, none of which is make-believe: “I wrote every song on the album to tell the story I wanted to tell, so that I could speak to my fans 100% as me.”

Asked to comment on the overall message of “Welcome to Utopia,” Ryan Maynard writes that “Utopia is a place every single one of us has been … above the clouds, on top of the world … that feeling of absolute bliss – a feeling that often overcomes the feeling of mortality. Sometimes we choose to exist in that realm because it feels better than the reality of the often dark world that surrounds us. But what happens when those two worlds collide? Will Utopia save you, or will it be your demise?”

While it may seem idyllic, there’s much more to the record than just fluffy clouds and a verse/chorus song structure.

“The imagery throughout the album points to a world filled with unrest,” Maynard says, “much like the world we live in today. The light from the sun on the cover is beautiful, but is it a sunset or a sunrise? Either way that beauty is only temporary. Nobody knows where this world is headed, and I think that’s a great metaphor to describe how everyone feels right now. Is this the dawning light of a new day, or the last beautiful moment before darkness rises?”

“Welcome to Utopia” by Ryan Maynard is available from over 600 quality digital music stores online worldwide now.

Buck-N-Nice release new album ‘EMAG’

The hip-hop duo known as Buck-N-Nice have released their latest rap album, “EMAG” – a thought provoking independently released sophomore LP that challenges a deceptive music industry. A fresh, innovative collection of tracks built on the boom-bap principles of the 1990s, “EMAG” stands as evidence that Buck-N-Nice have a little something for lovers of rap and hip hop everywhere.

Additionally, Buck-N-Nice will be the first artists to release a full-length album on Instagram using the hashtag #EMAGfullAlbum.

“Beginning June 9,” they write of this, “we’ll be releasing our album via Instagram posts on our @BUCKnNICE feed. The songs will be posted as videos and will be released one track per day for 19 days (completing our 19 track album release).”

“EMAG” from Buck-N-Nice may by heard and purchased here: https://bucknnice.bandcamp.com/track/emag.

Buck-N-Nice are rapper SawBuck and DJ So Nice from the National Capital Region of Canada. They cite as main artistic influences Royce da 5’9, Marco Polo, DJ Premier, Joe Budden, Black Milk, J. Cole, and the Lox. Their own sound blends old-school minimalism with the sharp, clean production values of the 21st century, making their tracks appealing to nightclub audiences and audiophiles on earbuds, alike.

Asked to comment on their “EMAG” release from Buck-N-Nice, Busy Inc. writes, “After getting their feet wet with their debut album, they learned from the inside-out how backwards the industry is. It’s a machine filled with appropriation, shortcuts to success and all-around deception. This is the theme of ‘EMAG,’ an album titled so because the GAME is backwards.”

While the overall themes of their new album cover the entirety of the international hip-hop scene, Buck-N-Nice have still made a personal record in “EMAG.”

“Making music is running away from reality while dealing with it head on,” say Buck-N-Nice. “Music was always a part of both of our lives, and by creating our own, we’ve made our story a part of other people’s.”

Buck-N-Nice have performed with Non Phixion, 50 Cent, Run The Jewels, and Freeway among many others. Their tours have taken them to the House of PainT Urban Arts Festival (2014) the Megaphono Music Showcase, the Canadian Music Week Showcase, the RBC Ottawa Bluesfest, the NXNE festival, and the House of PainT Urban Arts Festival (2015) as well as the Marvest at CityFolk festival, at which they were the recipients of the Stingray Music Rising Star Award (2016).

“EMAG,” “Us vs. Them,” and more from Buck-N-Nice are available online worldwide now.
